Article Picture I’m Linda Christensen, a registered medical assistant, and I’ve been working at Dr. Steury’s office since May of 2002.  Prior to that I worked as a special sections writer for the Greenville Daily News and as a medical assistant for a Greenville family clinic as well as for the Greenville Hospital’s clinic division.  Currently I enjoy reading, painting, stained glass and various other crafts.  I also enjoy golfing, gardening and most of all, traveling.  I’ve been involved for years with 4-H and with the American Cancer Society’s Montcalm Relay for Life since 1989.

My husband Larry and I have lived outside of Sheridan for over 37 years now.  Larry, who retired from the Road Commission in 2003, enjoys hunting, fishing and woodworking.  He is very talented and makes beautiful wood cabinets, tables and shelves.  He also loves to cook and is very good at it!  Lucky for me he also does dishes!

Our daughter Jessica, now a practicing veterinarian, graduated from Michigan State University's College of Veterinary Medicine in May of 2009.  She then joined South Shore Animal Hospital which is located in Houghton Lake, Michigan.  She enjoys her job as well as the sporting activities that the surrounding lake area offers.  Our son Greg works for the Road Commission.  He enjoys spending time with his family, as well as hunting, racing and riding his motorcycle.  He and his wife Layce, their six children and two dogs all live in Stanton.

Now I’d like to share what I do at the office.  As a registered medical assistant I take patients to an exam room for a basic assessment that includes history and vitals. In addition I schedule tests and specialty appointments, request insurance authorizations and talk with patients regarding medical concerns, prescription requests and test results.  I also give injections and remove sutures as well as other procedures when needed.  I enjoy working with Dr. Steury and Elizabeth and know that the patients can tell from the friendly but professional way they are treated here at the office that everyone thoroughly enjoys their job and cares about providing the best of medical care to our patients.
