I’m Christine Skilling and I have worked in Dr Steury’s office for 32 years. I first started working at Sheridan Clinic in 1964 for Dr. H.E.Beckmeyer (Dr. B.), Dr. L. Jagnow, Dr. Henry Beckmeyer (Dr. B’s son), and Dr. J. Walker. During my employment there I worked for several physicians throughout the years including Dr. R. Rickett, Dr. F. Whitlow, and Dr. C. Horne.My parents moved to Sheridan when I was two years old and I grew up in Sheridan, the only child of Raymond and Florence Yutzey. My mother is retired after working several years for Dr. B at a position similar to mine. She lives in Sheridan and is a volunteer at Sheridan Community Hospital. My father passed away in December, 2002. I live in Stanton with my spoiled wonder cat Kylie. My hobbies are quilting, playing cards, knitting, crocheting, cross stitch, reading and collecting snow village pieces. My husband Jerry passed away very suddenly in November 2001, 2 weeks before what would have been our 38th wedding anniversary. Jerry was General Foreman at the Montcalm County Road Commission and retired in April, 1999 after being employed there for thirty four years. I would like to thank everyone for the wonderful support and love they have given (and continue to give) me at my time of great need. May God bless you all in a very special way. I have three grown daughters of which I am very proud. My oldest, Jackie and her husband Joel Raymond live at Derby Lake near Stanton. Jackie is a registered nurse. Joel is a correction’s officer for the State of Michigan and works in Ionia. They have 2 children, Justin, age 16 and Jenna, age 14 and they go to school Central Montcalm - Go Green! Two Shitzu dogs and 2 cats complete their household. They also enjoy camping in their fifth wheel. My middle daughter Kimberly and husband David Kraus live in Farmington Hills, Michigan. Kim graduated from Ferris State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in medical technology. Dave is an Osteopathic physician. Dave used to work part time in the Sheridan Community Hospital emergency room and, in fact, that is how Kim met him when she was working in the lab at SCH. They have 4 children Alex (A.J.) age 15, Madison (Madi) age 13, Max age 11, and Bennett age 8. Kim is a full time mom and also volunteers with border collie rescue. They have 3 dogs of their own and sometimes their house also has various other foster puppies and dogs. Kim and Dave also like to go camping in their travel trailer. My youngest daughter Michelle and husband Mark Lichtman live near Kim and Dave on Commerce Lake in Commerce Township. Michelle graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelors’ degree in business administration. Mark owns his own business, ZenaComp, Inc. which he started in the early 1990’s. ZenaComp, Inc. is located in Farmington Hills, MI. Michelle recently went back to work as an administrative assistant. Michelle and Mark have 2 children, Maggie 10 and Chase, age 8. Mark’s 2 children Zachary, age 19 and Hope, age 17 complete their family. I work in our insurance/business office. I work on the computer, do the billing and posting, and handle accounts. I semi-retired 2 years ago and work 2 and a half days a week. If you call Dr. Steury’s office asking a question about your account or insurance, you will probably end up talking to me (I am here on Tuesday until 2, Wednesday until 2 and Thursday mornings). I love my job and I am always happy to answer any insurance or other questions you may have, whether they pertain to your account here or whether you have some general question about insurance. Docs Comments: I have been so fortunate to have Christine working in my office almost from the time I first came to Sheridan. She has more accumulated knowledge of how the many insurance's that we accept (and even some that we don’t) work and she goes to many (boring!!) seminars every year to keep up to date. She works closely with Sheridan Community Hospital and sometimes she has helped their business office out of a fix (and they have also occasionally assisted my office in the same way.) Any question I have about insurance will be answered by Christine--either immediately or after a few hours research. Christine is an invaluable resource for me and my patients.
